Michael Preston
Michael Preston is a native of the Washington, DC area and has worked at a law firm, a public policy firm, a national association, and the US Small Business Administration. He has advocated for local government programs like the Community Development Block Grant at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Community Oriented Policing Services at the Department of Justice and Assistance to Firefighters Grants at the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
He worked with the Senate and House Homeland Security Committees and Customs and Border Protection to reduce border wait times at international bridge crossings. He helped to secure funds from the Federal Transit Administration, Federal Highway Administration and the Department of Transportation for clean energy bus fleets, highway construction and rapid transit systems.
Michael has worked with the Department of Energy on the Risk Based Data Management information system for tracking oil, gas, injection well, and source water protection activities. He has encouraged Members of the House and Senate to reinstate the alternative fuels excise tax credit and advocated for fairness in online sales tax remittance.
Michael supported the expansion and development of programs for the intellectually and developmentally disabled and executed grassroots outreach to ensure passage of legislation to raise funds for vision health programs, youth educational services, and humanitarian relief on behalf of the world’s largest service organization.
