Scott Olson

Scott Olson, as the top Democratic housing staffer for 15 years on the House Financial Services Committee, played a lead role in all the major affordable housing legislation adopted during that period, including the landmark 1998 public housing bill, the elderly and disabled provisions adopted in 2000, the Hearth Act (McKinney-Vento reauthorization and reform) in 2009, and the Tax Credit Exchange Program in the 2009 stimulus bill. He also played a significant role in the development of comprehensive Section 8 legislation (SEVRA), the majority of which was enacted into law in 2016 as HOTMA.
